welcome

Since the mid-1960s we have been promoting a season of professional concerts annually in Tunbridge Wells.

Over the years we have engaged some of the world's finest soloists and ensembles and have also been privileged to hear very talented young musicians at the start of their careers. In addition to the regular concerts, we organise workshops, educational projects, competitions and encourage the study of music in schools.

Sponsorship

There are excellent opportunities for sponsorship of Green Room Music so please do contact us if you feel you would benefit from being associated with this first rate concert series and community and education project.  We are grateful to Buffet-Crampon, Markson Pianos, The Early Music Shop and Trinity Guildhall for their support this season.

We are a voluntary organisation, a registered charity (no.274920) and affiliated to Making Music. We are always looking for new helpers and if you would like to offer your services we will be delighted to hear from you.

The Romney Concert

Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet

Since its formation the Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet has explored the boundaries of the recorder consort.  Its musical adventure started in 1978.  The ensemble's reputation grew quickly when they emerged as the winner of the 1981 Musica Antigua Competition in Bruges.  What followed was the recognition as a serious ensemble of unparalleled virtuosity - a recording contract with Decca and the start of an international career.  The quartet's recordings (for L'Oiseau-Lyre, Decca and Channel Classics) have confirmed its reputation as the world's most innovative and exciting recorder consort.

La Spagna

Renaissance at the Spanish Royal Court

In the 15th and 16th Century, Spain was one of the world's leading naval and commercial powers. Spanish music of the day reflects both the era's pomp and glory and an indescribable, irrepressible energy. Music played a highly important role both at the Royal Court and in nobility's churches and private chapels. Composers such as Pedro Escobar,

Johannes Cornago, Diego Ortiz, Antonio de Cabezón and Nicolas Gombert enchanted the period's audiences, their creative bandwidth ranging from narrative Cancións to ingenious motets and Recercades and fiery Batallas.

"La Spagna" takes the audience on a sonic journey back into this magnificent era.

 Tickets: £20.   Click here to book online now or phone 0845 680 1926 (Mon - Fri 9 - 4, Sat 10 - 1) - there is no booking fee.
